Zip Sliding across the Clyde
This weekend some of our team took part in the Zip Slide across the Clyde charity event for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland.
Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland is the only Scottish charity with a remit to support all those affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus across Scotland. Within Glasgow they support over 423 individuals including parents and carers. To continue this support they need to raise £1 million each year.
Switching soft furnishings manufacturing and days on the phone with the high life, the members of the Elite Contract Furniture team that took part were; Natalie L, Lorraine, Natalie M, Duncan, Pat and Ceitidh.
Each of them were tasked with the scary prospect, for myself anyway, of going up an extremely high portable crain, taking a step off the crane and zip sliding 150ft across the freezing (even on a warm day) Clyde at speeds up to 70mph.
I am thankfull to say that all our team survived the ordeal and someone of them have even said they enjoyed it and would do it again!
At the time of writing we are delighted to annoucned we have raised around £1400 for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland and we would like to thank all our customers, suppliers, friends and family for their donations and support.
Natalie said "it was a fantistic experience which I would do again, the team had a great time and I am thrilled with the amount of money we raised".
You can find out more about Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland on their website and see all the fantastic work they do.
